Backpack Hazard (IMPORT)
This game is Japanese but is language-independent and English rules are provided as pdfs.
Backpack Hazard is a competitive puzzle game in which players draft item cards and stuff them into backpacks in a world where a zombie pandemic has broken out.
Each round, one of the two item cards dealt is passed around to the next player, and the two item cards are stuffed into a backpack.
The backpack is 3 x 5 squares, and the item cards have items drawn within 2 x 3 squares on both sides.
You can rotate the cards as you place them, and you can stack them on top of or under already placed item cards. However, you cannot stack them so that they protrude from the backpack or hide items.
The top of your backpack depicts the unique bonus score you get at the end of the game. You can also place item cards to hide bonus scores, but you will not receive any bonuses for doing so.
There are four types of items: guns, ammunition, herbs, and keys, and you score points for meeting each of these conditions. Guns and ammunition must be in pairs of the same color, herbs can be stacked, and keys must be connected to the same key.
After the second round, the achievement phase is played at half time. Players with 10 or more points on items only will receive an extra bonus point at the end of the game.
On the third round you may rearrange your item cards.
After the fourth round, the final scoring phase takes place. The player with the highest total of items and bonus points is the winner.
