Players compete as interstellar editors, wagering precious coins to determine which risky and eccentric rules to include before diving into a single, universal game of galactic trick-taking.
The Tricktaker's Guide To The Galaxy is a trick-taking game for 3–5 players that combines traditional play with an innovative pre-game auction. Before the main game begins, players enter an Editing Phase, where they use coins (which also serve as points) to bid for or avoid strange and risky rule cards that modify gameplay.
Once all rules are assigned, players proceed to a single trick-taking phase using a standard deck of playing cards with must-follow and trump mechanics. Success depends on carefully balancing risk and reward, fulfilling the conditions of the rules you’ve accepted while navigating the shifting chaos of galactic house rules.
