White Runner (IMPORT)
This game is Japanese but is language-independent and English rules are provided as PDF's if they are not within the box.
Set forth into a thrilling world of speed and snow! Compete against other cross-country skiing animals in the once in a century "White Runner" race to prove your agility, speed, and endurance. Play as the swift rabbit, clever fox, mighty bear, or athletic deer, using their unique skills to outmaneuver your opponents and win the race! Each round is divided into two sequential phases: Skating Style Phase Skiing Phase During the Skating Style Phase, players select one of their four skating style cards to play. The cards will dictate the player order, the amount of available dice, and the possible movement spaces for the next phase. They also modify the players' speed, potentially granting them more dice to use throughout the game. In the Skiing Phase, players go in order dictated by the stamina cost of their skating style cards. Depending on the card played, players will roll a certain number of dice to earn their movement points. These movement points are spent to proceed in the race, fulfilling the requirements of each movement space ahead. However, players may only move as many spaces as their played skating style card allows. Being in the lead isn't always beneficial though - jumping over other players counts as one move, so you can advance multiple spaces with just one move!
